Job Description
The Research Associate (RA) is a key member of the R&D team, supporting important research projects and ongoing scientific activities. The RA brings 3-5 years of experience at a life sciences company, academic or medical research organization and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The RA plays an important role assisting the CSO and other team members' conduct of the Company's clinical studies, technical validations, and scientific initiatives associated with CND's suite of neurodiagnostic products and services. The RA helps define research plans in collaboration with team members and performs secondary research on assigned topics. The RA provides key facts and figures for peer-reviewed publications and helps review and ensure all data is accurate and checked. The individual is a strong collaborator and is comfortable interfacing across multiple departments and communicating effectively with various team members. The RA has excellent attention to detail and provides effective written summaries of complex information. The individual also offers key insights on analyses and has experience discussing methods and conclusions with senior leaders in the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Research Design and Execution
- Contribute to the design and implementation of research projects
- Conduct literature reviews to identify relevant research and methodologies
- Support the development of research protocols and procedures
- Help collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources
- Maintain accurate records of research activities and data
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Support statistical analyses and other data analysis techniques
- Develop figures for effective display of information
- Help prepare reports, posters, presentations, and publications summarizing research findings
- Aid in publication of manuscripts, abstracts and protocols
Collaboration and Communication
- Work collaboratively with project teams, principal investigators(PIs), other researchers, and team members
- Communicate research progress and findings effectively, both orally and in writing
- Assist with grant writing and securing funding for research projects
Other Duties
- Play a key role in maintaining the Company's scientific publications library and providing summaries of specific publications when needed
- Stay current with advancements in the field and communicate to Company leaders
- Assist with laboratory or field research activities when requested
- Help manage research budgets and resources Perform literature searches as required and communicate relevant publications and findings to the research team.
- Review agendas and abstracts from upcoming or previous scientific meetings and share relevant insights with the research team.
- Contribute to additional activities, as needed, that support the goals of the research or study team
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a research lab focused on innovative scientific advancements
- Familiarity with moderately complex statistical methods that apply to applicable clinical studies
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects
- Proficiency in relevant software, statistical packages, and laboratory techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration and reporting
- Strong organizational and time-management skills are needed to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Education, Certifications & Licensures:
- Master's degree or Ph.D is neuroscience required
Other:
- This position is based in our Boston office (Coolidge Corner, Brookline) and is expected to be in-office at least 3-4 days/week.
