Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school serving grades K-1 and 3-5 in North Adams, MA. This contract role focuses on providing specialized support within sub separate classrooms catering to students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum and some who are non-verbal. The role requires hands-on assistance with toileting and collaboration with Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction tailored to students with severe disabilities
• Manage classrooms with students requiring intensive support, including physical and communication challenges
• Work closely with RBTs to implement applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies
• Support daily living skills such as toileting and communication needs
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in special education, particularly with severe and multiple disabilities
• Proficiency in specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
• Comfort working onsite full-time with young students in isolation from typical education settings
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and support staff
• Patience, empathy, and strong classroom management skills
