Location: Hadley, MA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bench Chemist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in analytical chemistry who thrives in a fast-paced lab environment. You’ll be responsible for performing chemical analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using advanced instrumentation and wet chemistry techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform LC and GC testing on various sample types, including raw materials and finished goods.
- Prepare samples, run calibration curves, and conduct system suitability and integration reviews.
- Execute wet chemistry procedures such as pH measurement, titrations, and loss on drying (LOD).
- Conduct first-line instrument maintenance (e.g., column care, leak checks, pump seal replacement) in compliance with IQ/OQ/PQ standards.
- Troubleshoot and maintain lab instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Support method validation efforts, focusing on accuracy, precision, LOD, and LOQ.
- Assist with lab operations including inventory, cleanliness, and peer review of lab notebooks.
- Draft and review SOPs to support quality and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry with 3–5 years of QC lab experience (food or supplement industry preferred).
- Proficient in operating HPLC and GC systems independently.
- Experience with small molecule testing in complex matrices (e.g., vitamins, fats, emulsifiers).
- Familiarity with USP/AOAC methods and cGMP documentation.
- Skilled in chromatography software (OpenLab, ChemStation).
- Strong commitment to lab safety and quality standards.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with equivalent experience.
- Background in wet chemistry, organic chemistry, formulation, or R&D.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
