Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time teaching opportunity is available for a General Education Teacher specializing in Kindergarten within an elementary school setting in Cambridge, MA. This contract position offers two engagement periods: from ASAP through the end of the school year, and from March 16th through the end of the school year.
Key responsibilities include delivering effective instruction as a Stages Teacher, fostering Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills, and collaborating closely with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The role also involves applying Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) techniques to assist student development and address behavioral needs in the classroom.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching credentials in General Education or Special Education
- Experience working with Kindergarten-aged children in an elementary school environment
- Familiarity with Social Emotional Learning practices and frameworks
- Ability to collaborate with behavioral specialists on BIPs and IEPs
- Knowledge of Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques relevant to classroom settings
- Strong organizational and communication skills
