Job SummaryThe Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and preventive upkeep of critical facility equipment including boilers, HVAC systems, purified water systems, and production machinery. This role ensures operational efficiency, supports production needs, and provides 24/7 emergency response coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor boiler pressure and purified water systems to maintain proper operation levels, water pressure, and purity.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all equipment including air handlers, air compressors, HVAC, WFI systems, cold rooms, and production equipment.
- Conduct ongoing repairs of laboratory equipment in support of production requirements.
- Provide 24/7 on-call emergency response for critical equipment failures.
- Execute general facility maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, meeting room setup, and relocation of furniture or equipment.
- Maintain required certifications for HVAC/refrigeration (Commonwealth of Massachusetts), boiler operation, and wastewater management.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (minimum requirement).
- 3+ years of experience in HVAC/Refrigeration maintenance.
- HVAC/Refrigeration certification preferred (desired certification).
- Boiler operation experience and boiler license (support for obtaining license provided by employer).
- Basic electrical knowledge and general facility maintenance experience.
- Wastewater license is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience working with Water For Injection (WFI) systems.
Certifications
- HVAC/Refrigeration Certification.
- Boiler License (support provided to obtain).
- Wastewater License (helpful but not mandatory).
Working Conditions
- Frequently lifts and/or moves objects weighing 25 to 60 pounds; occasionally lifts over 60 pounds in challenging positions.
- Occasionally works in adverse weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold).
- Works throughout the facility, including electrical/mechanical rooms, around production equipment, and on rooftops.
- Noise levels vary by assignment.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
