Direct Support Professionals are members of a team responsible for providing high quality direct care services to adults with developmental disabilities. The right candidates will be responsible for providing care and assistance to Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. What you’ll do:

Summary: The Direct Support Professional 2 will support and assist in Level 2 residential programs. Staff will help individuals who need daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living while managing within a home environment and in the community. Individuals may require moderate physical assistance or accommodation. Staff will receive and must pass specialized training to provide enhanced supervision or interventions designed to address multiple disabilities, including behavioral support or enhanced medical care.
Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm (40 hours)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ol>
<li>Provide support and assist individuals with skills training in all activities of daily living.</li>
<li>Create opportunities and provide support to individuals to make decisions to develop their skills and foster independence.</li>
<li>Provide services to individuals according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Provide support and assist individuals with all medical, clinical, and financial needs.</li>
<li>Transport and accompany individuals as needed to and from medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program.</li>
<li>Maintain required documentation according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Assist individuals with accessing resources and recreational opportunities in the community.</li>
<li>Administer medications according to MAP regulations, as applicable.</li>
<li>Maintain core training certifications including FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP.</li>
<li>Maintain other additional required training and certifications as required by the program.</li>
<li>Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

Required Education/Experience: 
<ol>
<li>Must have a high school diploma or GED. Associates or DSP Certification preferred.</li>
<li>A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities is preferred.</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.</li>
</ol>
Required Skills/Knowledge: 
<ol>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills so that the writing of required documents is clear and articulate.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Valid driver's license and one year of driving experience.</li>
<li>Computer literacy includes the ability to use proficiently Microsoft products and web-based applications used by the agency.</li>

The on-call caregiver should be a seasoned, experienced caregiver for senior citizens. HHA or CNA certification is desired, but a strong work history with elderly clients would be seriously considered if applicant was non-certified.&nbsp; The on-call caregiver has potential to make a significant amount of money. Full time work, overtime pay and a flat rate on call payment could all be combined in one pay period to make for a large payout.&nbsp; Referral bonus, sign on bonus, mileage pay, merit bonus, holiday pay and more are also available.&nbsp; The main function of the on-call&nbsp;caregiver is to be available outside of regular business hours to the On Call Supervisor in order to fill last minute call outs and urgent client needs.&nbsp; To assist clients in their own homes with activities of daily living, boost their spirits, and significantly improve their quality of life, by delivering quality and safe home health care services. The On Call Caregiver accepts responsibility for his/her own actions and:

<li>Agrees to be On Call during specific hours and specific days. </li>
<li>Will be paid a stipend for being On Call in addition to an hourly wage for any hours worked with clients. </li>
<li>Will return all phone calls within 15 minutes during the time period On Call. May receive calls at ANY time prior to or during the On Call Shift, i.e. may be called at midnight to go in for an overnight if On Call 8pm-8am.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li>
<li>Must be able to leave to see a client within 30 minutes of getting a call from the On Call Supervisor. </li>
<li>Will accept all assignments given during the time period On Call, regardless of location.&nbsp; This includes some assignments in assisted livings and hospice programs where we are assisting with staffing needs. </li>
<li>Forfeits On Call stipend if refuses to comply with any of the above responsibilities.&nbsp; </li>
<li>Provides necessary information on their own health status and experience.</li>

<li>Communicates with the agency about problems and concerns.</li>

<li>Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training procedures. </li>
<li>Maintain a clean, insured vehicle that has had manufacturer’s recommended scheduled services. </li>
