ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: Public Rights Project (PRP) is a public interest legal nonprofit, headquartered in Oakland, with a remote team based throughout the United States. Our mission is to close the gap between the promise of our laws and the lived reality of our most vulnerable communities. Since 2017, we have been working at the intersection of community organizing and state and local government enforcement to build a scalable, equitable community-based enforcement model to protect civil rights and advance economic justice. PRP launched its Election Protection Hub (EPH) to support local elections officials as they fight to protect the voting rights of their residents and secure safe and fair elections. The EPH provides training, technical assistance, and legal backup to election administrators to enable them to respond to election threats quickly and effectively. In addition, PRP’s EPH participates in broader election protection and pro-democracy coalition work, both to support litigation by partner organizations and to more effectively coordinate resources to defend against efforts to undermine free elections, threaten marginalized communities, and threaten the rule of law. JOB SUMMARY Public Rights Project seeks to hire a Staff Attorney to join the EPH. The Staff Attorney will staff PRP’s in-house efforts to represent and advise state, local, and tribal governments and elected officials in support of election administration and the expansion of voting rights. The Staff Attorney will be assigned to support PRP government partners in particular states. The Staff Attorney will therefore serve as a “state lead,” and will be expected to become an expert in election administration, voting rights, and political developments in their assigned state. This includes conducting regular outreach to government and non-government partners in the assigned states. The Staff Attorney may also assist with litigation and programmatic matters within PRP’s wider programmatic portfolio. However, the majority of their time would be housed within the EPH. Although this position does not incorporate formal supervisory responsibilities, the Staff Attorney will sometimes lead teams and may review the work of other attorneys, alongside more independent work or work as a contributor to other case teams. This position reports to the Elections and Government Partnership Director. This position will also work closely with the Chief Program Officer and other program team directors. Thrive is seeking a strategic and adaptable Senior Commercial Counsel with significant experience in complex commercial contracts and managing the legal aspects of customer and vendor relationships for one of the fastest growing managed service providers in the industry. You’ll play a critical role in advising on cutting-edge tools and products while helping us scale legal support for a growing and fast-evolving business.
Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, the Senior Commercial Counsel will serve as the lead lawyer and subject matter expert for customer and vendor matters and assist the Chief Legal Officer and other members of the legal team on an as-needed basis with a variety of contracts and other legal matters. This role will be highly visible within the organization and offers the opportunity to influence overall company strategy relating to customer acquisition and retention, vendor agreements, dispute resolution, and overall risk mitigation.

We build their capacity to protect and advance civil rights, convene and connect them on key issues, and provide legal representation to help them win in court for residents. Since 2017, we've recovered over $46 million in relief for marginalized people; built a network of over 1,300 government offices, elected officials, and community-based organizations in 50 states; trained 130 prosecutors and government lawyers in 24 states; and secured court victories on abortion, immigrant, workers’, and voting rights.
 JOB SUMMARY Public Rights Project seeks to hire a Managing Attorney for Reproductive Rights to join our team. This is a remote, full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of the Civil Rights Hub. PRP partners with local governments to protect and expand reproductive rights and defend against attacks while training government officials to advocate effectively and advancing public narratives that center issues pertaining to reproductive rights and bodily autonomy.
The Managing Attorney, Reproductive Rights, will be responsible for managing the reproductive rights strategy and portfolio and advance PRP’s legal work (litigation, amicus briefs, and policy), relationship management and collaboration (local government leaders and advocates) and communication on a range of reproductive rights issues to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in reproductive rights and movement lawyering, prioritizes effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, and works independently and collaboratively towards effective advocacy and strategies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Develop and implement PRP’s reproductive rights legal strategy:

Work closely with the CRH Director to manage case selection and strategy development, including strategic litigation designed to advance public narrative even when traditional legal victories may not be possible.

Conduct legal research on reproductive rights issues across a range of jurisdictions and advise partners (cities, counties, elected officials).

Identify opportunities for reproductive rights advocacy at the local level across the country and execute with government and advocacy partners.

Support and potentially manage litigation in state and federal court.
</li>
</ul>

<li>Reach, engage, and support local elected and appointed officials as well as reproductive rights advocates:

Lead and facilitate coalition work with diverse partners, including government officials, reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations, and other advocacy groups.

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS &amp; SPECIFICATIONS
This is a full-time, fully remote, exempt role with a salary range of $102,176 - $153,263. The exact salary will be based on the candidate's experience.
