Responsibilities

Role Overview:
At Veranova, we are committed to EHS excellence and ensuring a safe, healthy, and regulatory-compliant work environment. The Environmental Specialist is responsible for ensuring the site’s compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and best practices. The role involves managing environmental programs, overseeing environmental risk assessments, and working cross-functionally with teams to integrate environmental best practices into daily operations. This position plays a key role in protecting the environment, minimizing environmental impact, and supporting sustainability efforts at the site level.
 
Core Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Environmental Program Management: Lead, implement, and continuously improve environmental programs that align with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and Veranova’s sustainability goals. Manage waste management, water conservation, air emission controls and data emission logging, energy efficiency, and emissions control programs.</li>
<li>Regulatory Compliance &amp; Reporting: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies. Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation to regulatory agencies as required. Support audits and inspections by regulatory bodies. Manage site compliance calendar (legal register)</li>
<li>Environmental Risk Assessment: Conduct environmental impact assessments and identify potential environmental risks associated with site operations. Recommend strategies to mitigate negative environmental impacts and ensure compliance with environmental laws, including site expansion and construction projects.</li>
<li>Sustainability Initiatives: Lead site sustainability committee, collaborate with internal and global teams to drive sustainability projects focused on reducing the site’s carbon footprint, improving energy usage, reducing waste, and enhancing recycling efforts. Continue involvement with Devens Enterprise Commission on sustainability and volunteer programs.</li>
<li>Training and Education: Develop and deliver environmental training programs to employees to ensure they understand environmental policies and best practices. Foster a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility across the site.</li>
<li>Waste Management: Oversee the safe and compliant management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring proper disposal and documentation according to environmental regulations.</li>
<li>Environmental Impact Reporting &amp; Continuous Improvement: Track and analyze environmental performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvement. Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental management practices.</li>
<li>Emergency Response &amp; Environmental Incident Management: Assist in the development of emergency response plans for environmental incidents, such as spills or accidental releases. Provide support in managing and investigating environmental incidents when they occur.</li>
<li>Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with other departments (e.g., manufacturing, production, facilities) to implement environmentally friendly practices and ensure adherence to environmental guidelines in daily operations.</li>
<li>Safety Programs: Support of OSHA safety programs, including incident management, root cause investigation and emergency spill response.</li>

Qualifications: 
Required
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years' experience in environmental management, with a strong understanding of environmental regulations, risk assessments, and sustainability practices</li>
<li>Work in a collaborative manner as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment across multiple functions and sites</li>
<li>Strong drive for results including taking the initiative</li>
<li>Good time management skills and adaptability to new and changing circumstances</li>

Summary Description:
BB&amp;N is seeking a Crew Coach. This is a part-time position that is not eligible for employee benefits during the spring season. Responsibilities include all aspects of team organization, including practice planning and administrative tasks. The crew coach will provide examples of fair play, team building, character building, and respect for the athletes. The BB&amp;N Athletic Department expects its coaches to operate within the athletic philosophy of BB&amp;N and adhere to the BB&amp;N coaches’ manual as well as the Independent School League (ISL) and the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) rules and guidelines.
 
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Key functions for this position include, but are not limited to:

Assist in planning and leading practices (on/off water), drive coaching launches, manage equipment, attend all contests, and help handle logistics for regattas.

Mentor and instruct athletes in skill development (rowing/erging techniques), character development, and teamwork.

The spring season runs from March 9, 2026, through May 22, 2026.

Weekly practices occur during the time frame of 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

<li>
There will be around 1 to 2 Games a week (only on weekdays), and the coach must be on-site at 2:00 pm and will generally be done at 5:00 pm (depending on whether the game is home or away).
