The Automotive Technician independently performs vehicle repairs and services on customer’s vehicles while delivering the highest quality and customer satisfaction.
 
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Correctly mounts, dismounts, balancing, and repair of passenger and light truck tires.</li>
<li>Properly perform lube/oil/filter changes on domestic and foreign cars.</li>
<li>Properly perform and document vehicle safety inspections.</li>
<li>Perform unsupervised diagnosis and repairs of vehicles including, but not limited to, maintenance, brake, steering, suspension, heating and cooling systems, alignment, and light tune-ups utilizing automotive tools, equipment, and software (i.e., VAST, Automotive PC programs). </li>
<li>Produce accurate repair estimates on customer vehicles.</li>
<li>Work with store management to ensure productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction standards are met.</li>
<li>Properly adhere to safety and environmental standards, including maintaining a neat and clean work area by properly disposing of all waste products.</li>
<li>Communicate with customers and sales staff in understandable terms about the repairs needed to the vehicle and the value of the repairs.</li>
<li>Adheres to internal controls, policies, and procedures.</li>
<li>Assume other responsibilities as needed.</li>
</ul>
 
Requirements:
Education/Experience:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li>
<li>A technical degree is a plus!</li>
<li>Minimum of 1 year of experience with 1-3 ASE certifications. </li>
<li>A valid Driver’s License is required.</li>
</ul>
Skills/Knowledge:
<ul>
<li>Customer service focus in a retail environment</li>
<li>Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.</li>
<li>Basic conflict resolution skills</li>

You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment, preparing cost estimates, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Position Summary: Perform preventative maintenance of medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, converter dolly under minimal supervision. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations. Communicates and interacts with co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Technicians are responsible for the documentation, completion, and to keep current on Work Orders for all repairs and parts used daily. The position will be required to perform road call services as needed. Primary Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Complete and perform preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/ repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units) as well as identifying root causes of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.</li>
<li>Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as “roadworthy”.</li>
<li>Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.</li>
<li>Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.</li>
<li>Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition which may require replacement of parts.</li>
<li>Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery requiring the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li>

Qualification:
Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience Required Experience: 2+ years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PM's, tire &amp; wheel, air &amp; air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair and experience in A/C refrigeration
