The ideal candidate will have strong experience in molecular biology/ecology applied to fisheries and knowledge of common molecular laboratory techniques and data analysis. The candidate must be capable of working independently to design experiments, generate high quality data, and analyze results for a variety of projects directed by GMGI research staff. Experience with eDNA is highly desirable. Job Description 
We are seeking a scientific contributor to develop validated analytical assays for LNP and drug product characterization. This role will be responsible for designing, developing and validating analytical assays for a targeted LNP drug product to support the platform and pipeline development. The candidate would have the opportunity to work in a collaboration-oriented role in which they would coordinate with other teams and provide analytical support to the discovery and PD teams. The ideal candidate is a sciences major with strong exposure to analytical techniques and who is excited by the idea of being a core participant in building an early startup and guiding the scientific vision of the company. They would be engaged in science and driven by our mission to create therapies that help people in ways that are currently impossible.
<ul>
<li>Designing, developing and validating analytical assays for LNP and targeted LNP drug product characterization</li>
<li>Develop assays for LNPs including lipid raw material QC, composition assessment, Lipid/cargo profiling and LNP/tLNP characterization using HPLC (SEC, Reverse Phase), fluorescence-based methods and other analytical techniques</li>
<li>Work with cross-functional groups including LNP discovery, PD and CMC team to support needs of analytical method development, characterization, and transfer</li>
<li>Perform CRO outreach including experimental planning, work coordination and data interpretation for as analytical SME</li>
<li>Support technology transfer to Industry Partners</li>
<li>Foster collaborative relationships across the team and company and engage in a positive and exciting work environment</li>
<li>Contribute to hiring, training, and collaborating with scientists (as needed)</li>
<li>Author technical documents, including SOPs for analytical methods, maintain diligent records and demonstrate proficiency in scientific communication</li>

Qualifications 
Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>BS/MS in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field, preferably with 7/5 years of relevant experience. The title will be commensurate with experience.</li>
<li>Hands on experience developing analytical methods for complex biological therapeutics</li>
<li>Prior experience in developing analytical methods for LNP characterization is a must and will be key for this role</li>
<li>Knowledge of ICH/USP guidelines</li>
<li>Experience in analytical methods with HPLC (IPRP, SEC, IEx), UV-vis, colorimetric and fluorescence-based</li>
<li>Must be eligible to work in the United States</li>
</ul>

<li>Experience in developing validated analytical assays</li>
<li>Experience in advanced analytical methods for LNP characterization such as LC-MS, MALS, SEC-MALS etc</li>

Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute (GMGI) is an exciting independent research institute addressing critical challenges facing our oceans, human health, and the environment through innovative scientific research and education. GMGI is looking for a Research Associate to join our team studying the biology of exceptionally long-lived marine animals. Our goal is to translate evolutionary insights from these exceptional animals into interventions that promote human healthspan and combat age-related diseases, using zebrafish as a development platform. This position will conduct zebrafish genetics work and husbandry, testing these evolutionary targets to extend healthy functionality. This project will use modern genetic editing techniques and apply new assays to modulate and test the molecular mechanisms of aging.
The ideal candidate will have experience with aquatic husbandry, standard molecular biology techniques, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of collaborators. Responsibilities:

JOB OVERVIEW
 
Ethos Laboratories, Massachusetts facility, is CLIA-certified clinical diagnostic testing facility. The Supervisor Core Lab is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Core Lab. They will ensure that all patient sample accessioning, preparation, toxicological analysis using EIA and LC-MS/MS instrumentation, and report releasing occurs according to established SOPs. In addition, they will primarily operate and maintain LC-MS/MS instrumentation and ensure that data analysis and report certification meets established turnaround time (TAT) requirements.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
<ul>
<li>Supervise Clinical Laboratory Technician(s) and all testing processes including accessioning, sample preparation, screening, and confirmatory toxicological testing at Core Lab</li>
<li>Guide the day-to-day workflow of the lab and the Clinical Laboratory Technician(s)</li>
<li>Prepare, run, and analyze urine specimens on LC-MS/MS instrumentation</li>
<li>Maintain, troubleshoot, and operate LC-MS/MS instrumentation</li>
<li>Interpret, analyze, and release patient toxicological reports using EIA and LC-MS/MS instrumentation</li>
<li>Prepare solutions for LC – requiring candidate to perform calculations related to basic chemistry, such as molarity, buffers, dilutions, etc.; also requires appropriate documentation of solutions prepared, opened, and filled </li>
<li>Wash used reagent bottles/glasses/graduated cylinders </li>
<li>Update MS for changes in methods, test menus, or changes in testing consumables, such as columns, solvents, etc. – requiring tracking maintenance repairs and monitoring use of consumables to stay within budgets </li>
<li>Execute the successful tuning and calibration of LC-MS/MS systems, identify system errors, troubleshoot tuning/calibration errors, and work in close contact with Laboratory Director to correct instrumentation errors </li>
<li>Prepare daily work lists for all methods and all matrices, ensuring accuracy of methods and most efficient use of instrument time </li>
<li>Work on selected projects as determined by the Laboratory Director, and meet all established deadlines and project goals </li>
<li>Review and certify patient reports following established protocols – specifically for urine testing – utilizing and reporting point of care testing, EIA screening, and LC-MS/MS confirmation testing results </li>
<li>Answer incoming phone calls from customers, including questions regarding basic toxicology, basic drug metabolism, assistance with report issues, and sending reports </li>
<li>Coordinate with Newport lab for data analysis and/or certifying reports support when necessary</li>
<li>Complete internal and external rerun requests</li>
<li>Review calibration and quality control data for each batch of patient samples </li>
<li>Utilize established protocols to confirm retention time, precursor and product ions, and qualifier ions are within established ranges for peak qualification and note any discrepancies </li>
<li>Identify patient samples requiring reinjections or re-extractions following established protocols </li>
<li>Assist in proficiency testing, monitoring of daily controls, and be responsible for operating within the established quality controls parameters; including the recognition of invalid data and bringing all errors to the supervisor’s attention </li>
<li>Adhere to CAP/CLIA compliance standards </li>
<li>Participate in developing new testing opportunities and method development as needed </li>
<li>Prepare quality controls and calibrators from certified standard materials</li>

Requirements:
