The Analytical/QC Lab Metrologist is responsible for the timely installation, maintenance, repair, calibration, and IQ/OQ of instruments, balances, and other equipment used by the Analytical Development (AD) and Quality Control (QC) groups. Location: Manchester, NH
Manchester’s historic mill yard, our 30,000 square foot office space sits perched on the 5th floor of the original Amory Mill and is the home of our company’s headquarters. Remnants of the historic charm remain in various locations throughout the mill, while our space has been redesigned with modern lines and architectural accents. 
 
Job Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Develop geotechnical investigation requirements for projects and develop scopes of services and budgets for sub-consultant partners including other geotechnical specialists or subsurface investigation companies</li>
<li>Interface with sub-consultant geotechnical engineering firms or subsurface investigation companies to coordinate services and review submissions</li>
<li>Perform fieldwork, as necessary, to subsurface investigation parameters or to observe investigations</li>
<li>Perform/ review design calculations for project components such as abutments, walls, foundations, retaining walls, and tanks</li>
<li>Assist with design of airfield pavements and present alternative pavement solutions that may provide project sustainability and resilience benefits</li>
<li>Mentor team members on aspects of geotechnical engineering including interpretation of subsurface data and designs of civil infrastructure components</li>
<li>Design and evaluate shallow and deep foundation systems including driven piles, micro-piles, integral abutments, reinforced earth structures, and other geotechnical engineering solutions</li>
<li>Prepare geotechnical reports, design calculations, and construction specifications</li>
<li>Collaborate with project managers and other technical team members to ensure the successful completion of projects by communicating the integration of geotechnical investigations into design projects</li>
<li>Perform site visits and inspections to assess soil conditions, evaluate foundation performance, and provide recommendations for rehabilitation</li>
<li>Stay current with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to geotechnical engineering</li>
<li>Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies</li>

Requirements:
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>BS in Civil Engineering (MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred)</li>
<li>Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required</li>
<li>Minimum of 10 years' experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on the design of bridge foundations, retaining walls, treatment plant structures, and/ or facility foundations</li>
<li>Proficiency in the design and analysis of shallow and deep foundations including driven piles, micro-piles, integral abutments, and reinforced earth structures</li>
<li>Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and foundation design</li>
<li>Experience with related geotechnical software, such as LPile, or other similar tools and industry-related applications</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail</li>

Geotechnical Engineer - Manchester, NH

Job Description
We are currently seeking a Lead Scientist / Engineer with a PhD in Systems &amp; Control, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, and 5–6+ years of experience in applied modeling and estimation. This role will function as a senior member of the company’s algorithm team. It will involve designing and implementing Etiometry’s next-generation physiologic risk and treatment-prediction algorithms. The position will require close collaboration with Etiometry’s data science, product, and clinical teams to translate physiologic and clinical requirements into real-time decision support tools deployed in the ICU.
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>
Lead the design, implementation, and validation of algorithms that predict patient trajectories and responses to interventions (e.g., fluids, vasoactives, ventilator changes).
</li>
<li>
Extend Etiometry’s existing ODE-based physiologic models with advanced estimation methods (e.g., Kalman filters, Bayesian inference, particle filters).
</li>
<li>
Integrate data-driven approaches (e.g., neural networks, probabilistic ML, hybrid mechanistic/ML frameworks) with classical physiology-based models.
</li>
<li>
Translate physiologic and clinical requirements into quantitative risk indices for FDA-regulated software.
</li>
<li>
Work with real-world ICU data, including physiologic waveforms, vital signs, and laboratory values.
</li>
<li>
Mentor junior scientists and collaborate with engineers, clinical experts, and regulatory affairs to bring models from research → cleared product.
</li>
</ul>
Basic Qualifications
<ul>
<li>
PhD in Systems &amp; Control, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
</li>
<li>
5–6+ years of experience (industry or postdoctoral) in applied modeling, estimation, or control systems.
</li>
<li>
Strong background in dynamical systems &amp; ODE/PDE modeling.
</li>
<li>
Strong background in state estimation techniques (Kalman filters, stochastic processes, Bayesian methods).
</li>
<li>
Working knowledge of machine learning (neural networks, probabilistic ML, data-driven system identification).
</li>
<li>
Proficiency in scientific computing in Python (NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
</li>
<li>
Strong communication and organization skills.
</li>
<li>
Proven ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams and translate theory into applied solutions.
</li>
</ul>
Desired Qualifications

Experience working with clinical monitoring data (ICU waveforms, vital signs, laboratory data, EHR integration).
