In this role, you will work cooperatively with housing authorities, housing applicants and their advocates to fill units as quickly as possible while complying with HUD regulations and Fair Housing law.
You will be responsible for outreach and marketing of vacant units within Pine Street Inn programs, the community at large, and other referral sources. You will conduct housing fairs, open houses and other promotional events when needed. In this role, you will travel to sites throughout the Boston metro area to show units to prospective residents.
You will also be responsible for processing transactions within property management software and for assisting with general office support for the Supported Housing Department.
This position is not solely focused on Mod Rehab and CoC units. This Occupancy Specialist may also be required to take on responsibilities of other Occupancy Specialist or other Property Management Department staff as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Perform day-to-day operations of the site and implement action plans to improve operating results</li>
<li>Protect company assets by ensuring compliance with inventory check-in and sales procedures, product handling guidelines, cash control policies, shrinkage avoidance, and safety and security protocols to minimize losses and support the profitability of the store</li>
<li>Uphold positive working relationships with university officials, UGS partners, and third-party vendors </li>
<li>Lead operations of pop-up sales events outside of the store using mobile technologies</li>
<li>Fulfill and ship online sales orders daily</li>
<li>Utilize company visual guidelines to maintain store appearance and organization to maximize sales</li>
<li>Maintain site operations and visual signage policies and procedures</li>
<li>Guide part-time sales associates by creating daily task lists, training new staff members on POS processes, customer service and merchandising standards, and providing feedback to the multi-site store manager on attitude and performance.</li>
<li>Provide product feedback to the multi-site store manager, including making recommendations regarding new items to carry or those that should be discontinued</li>
<li>Maintain a safe and clean site environment in accordance with campus and UGS policies</li>
<li>Availability for varied weekly shifts including during the week, occasional weekends, evening events and peak shifts hours required</li>
</ul>
Knowledge and Experience:
<ul>
<li>2+ years retail experience with increasing responsibilities</li>
<li>Demonstrated technical expertise in point-of-sale (POS) systems and troubleshooting POS issues</li>
<li>Apple certification may be required</li>
<li>Product knowledge including apparel, hardgoods and tech accessories a plus</li>
<li>Computer proficiency for product shipping and inventory adjustment purposes</li>
<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams a plus</li>
<li>Proficiency with mobile hardware technology </li>
</ul>
