Pay: $19.89/hr without MAP certification or $20.91/hr with MAP certification
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Works closely with Residential managers and Direct Support Professionals in delivering service standards of excellence and ensure operational compliance within assigned program in accordance with federal, state and agency regulations. </li>
<li>Actively advocates for individuals served and demonstrates agency mission and values in all interpersonal and professional relations and implement Individual Support Plans for individuals based on assessments, objectives and goals. </li>
<li>Assist program participants with personal care and hygiene as needed, including but not limited to: toileting, transfers, change dining, showering, dressing, and grooming</li>
<li>Provide light to medium maintenance/domestic functions associated with residential programs, including, but not limited to: cleaning, laundry, cooking, grocery shopping, shoveling snow, and grounds keeping duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record and CORI is required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity. </li>
<li>First Aid, CPR, and MAP certification</li>
<li>High school diploma or GED is required, experience in relevant field preferred. </li>
<li>Ability to: lift up to 50 lbs., kneel, bend and carry items, sustain periods of walking, standing, and sitting, physically assist individuals according to their needs.</li>

Summary: The Direct Support Professional 1 will support and assist in Level 1 residential programs. Staff will help individuals who need daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living while managing within a home environment and in the community. Individuals may require physical assistance or accommodation.
Schedule: Saturday 9:00AM-3:00PM, Sunday 9:00AM-11:00PM (20 hours)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ol>
<li>Provide support and assist individuals with skills training in all activities of daily living.</li>
<li>Create opportunities and provide support to individuals to make decisions to develop their skills and foster independence. </li>
<li>Provide services to individuals according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Provide support and assist individuals with all medical, clinical, and financial needs.</li>
<li>Transport and accompany individuals as needed to and from medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program.</li>
<li>Maintain required documentation according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Assist individuals with accessing resources and recreational opportunities in the community.</li>
<li>Administer medications according to MAP regulations, as applicable.</li>
<li>Maintain core training certifications including FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP. </li>
<li>Maintain additional mandated certifications and training as required by the program.</li>
<li>Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ol>
Required Education/Experience:
<ol>
<li>Must have a high school diploma or GED - Associate's Degree or DSP Certification Preferred.</li>
<li>A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities is preferred.</li>
</ol>
Required Skills/Knowledge:
<ol>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills so that the writing of required documents is clear and articulate.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Valid driver's license and minimum of one year of driving experience.</li>
<li>Computer literacy includes the ability to use proficiently Microsoft products and web-based applications used by the agency.</li>
</ol>
Physical Demands:
<ol>
<li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to climb stairs.</li>
<li>Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.</li>
<li>The employee must be able to drive a vehicle and regularly meet the driving record requirements of the agency.</li>
<li>Must have a normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses.</li>
<li>Must have a normal range of hearing with or without corrective equipment.</li>
