What You’ll Do

As a City Year AmeriCorps member, your service will focus on coaching and

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The registered professional nurse (CAP RN 1) position is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program for Registered Nurses.&nbsp; The CAP RN 1 is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients.&nbsp;

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Monitor patients during infusion therapy, assessing vital signs, detecting deviations, and responding promptly to adverse reactions</li>
<li>Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the medical record</li>
<li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans</li>
<li>Float among clinical areas, providing specialized infusion care across various healthcare settings</li>
<li>Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, including OSHA and CDC guidelines, to minimize risks</li>
<li>Float among various clinical services where qualified and competent in infusion therapy</li>
<li>Stay informed about advancements in infusion therapy techniques and technologies through continuing education</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice</li>
<li>Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards</li>

Required Essential Skills:
<ul>
<li>Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills</li>
<li>The ability to read, write, &amp; communicate in the English language is required</li>
<li>Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills</li>
<li>Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending</li>
<li>Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism</li>
<li>Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. </li>
<li>Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail</li>
<li>Sensory - Visual acuity, ability to effectively communicate.</li>
