We are seeking a Scientist I/II, Viral Vector Process Development to join our team in Boston, MA and help push the boundaries of gene therapy process development. This role is for a technical expert who will conduct lentiviral (LV Edge) and adeno-associated viral (AAV Edge) vector-based process engineering for gene therapies, design complex experimental approaches to improve our workflows and systems, and coordinate project efforts. While primarily focused on viral vector process engineering, there is a high degree of cross-functionality within the Process Development group that will also include working on biologics processes (CHO Edge).
The successful candidate will work closely with Asimov’s Synthetic Biology and Cell Line Development teams, as well as interfacing with external partners. This role reports to the Head of Process Development and is a unique opportunity to work at a nimble, forward-thinking synthetic biology startup and help build the future of biological engineering.

A Software Development Manager at aPriori is a creative technologist who leads by example, setting the pace and tone for building a culture of high performing teams. You will collaborate frequently with designers, product managers, architects and business stakeholders through aPriori, to deliver compelling products that integrate with our SaaS suite.
 
You will provide direction and oversight through all phases of the product release cycle (design, development, quality assurance and delivery), aligning development objectives with product milestones and ultimately, customer satisfaction. As a Software Development Manager, one of your key responsibilities is to build and maintain a passionate, engaged and effective Engineering team. You do this through taking a deep interest in the people that report to you by making sure they are happy, motivated and challenged in what they do.

Responsibilities

Requirements:

<li>Proven ability to lead software engineering teams (people management and technical delivery)</li>

<li>Strong knowledge of OOP concepts and architectural patterns (Inversion of Control, Domain Driven Design, MVC, etc)</li>
<li>Knowledgeable in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines and tools, with the ability to automate build, test, and deployment processes.</li>
<li>Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies like Kubernetes, Docker etc.</li>
<li>Proven ability to in effectively allocating team resources, managing workloads, and coaching high-performing individual contributors</li>
<li>Skilled in agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)</li>
<li>Experience of building loosely coupled applications using microservices and integration patterns</li>

Education and Experience
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related Stem subject</li>
<li>2+ years in a leadership or managerial role</li>
<li>5+ years in an individual contributor software engineering role prior to becoming a manager.</li>
