Position Summary:
This position of Young Adult Outreach Case Worker supports young adult guests in the community with creating a strategy to achieve a stable housing solution. This position has two goals as a priority focus: diverting people from entering shelter, and assisting to rapidly re-house those who do. This position will be part of a larger Young Adult Rehousing Team, focusing on housing search/placement assistance, assessment and planning, as well as collaborating with peers on case coordination. The Outreach Worker will also educate community providers about services available in the shelter and appropriate/inappropriate referrals. Key characteristics of this professional individual include: compassionate listener who helps guests to feel safe in opening up about their situation; able to conduct clinical assessments and coordinate planning with Young Adult Team; strong problem solver and critical thinker; able to combine respectful and assertive approach in helping guests seeking shelter to pursue alternative plans whenever possible; and effective advocate with external supports/organizations. This is a full-time position. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 10am-6pm, but hours can be flexible based on job and staff needs.
Essential Responsibilities:

<ul>
<li>Advocate on behalf of program participants in order to help them move forward out of homelessness.</li>
<li>Conducting outreach in the streets, woods and community a minimum of twice a week to build professional relationships with those young adults living in unstable living situations in the Brockton area.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Work as part of a team to assess and redirect as many people as appropriate to alternative options rather than shelter (diversion) and to develop appropriate exit plans for those guests utilizing emergency shelter services.</li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Complete intake and assessment process in order to identify guest’s strengths, needs, barriers,</li>
</ul>
and goals in order to achieve shelter diversion or rapid and appropriate shelter exit.
<ul>
<li>Complete thorough assessments in order to identify strengths, needs, barriers, and goals.</li>
<li>Participate in the creation and/or implementation of program service plans.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Work with outside providers to educate community about shelter services and appropriate/inappropriate referrals and to encourage phone referrals and scheduling of intake appointments.</li>
<li>Create and accept internal and external referrals for resources and services and maintain communication with providers.</li>
<li>Assist guests with housing applications and search, and refer to Housing Specialist if appropriate.</li>
<li>Collaborate with FBMS housing case managers to foster a smooth transition for guests moving out of shelter and into permanent housing.</li>
</ul>

<li>Provide support, crisis intervention, mediation and service coordination.</li>
<li>Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings as required.</li>

<li>Collect and maintain data-based statistical information; Maintain accurate case records and submit written service outcome reports as needed.</li>

Perform duties strictly in accordance with bank policy and procedure, promoting positive customer relations by providing exemplary service.</li>
<li>Verify transactions and account balances and ensure that transactions follow bank policy, state and federal regulations such as Reg CC, Reg DD and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Understand and exercise customer identification procedures (CIP). Complete Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) verifications. Recognize when Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) are to be completed and filed. Refer unusual questions and account activity to supervisor.</li>
<li>Greet and interview existing and prospective customers to assess financial needs and promote and discuss various bank products and services, including but not limited to; checking accounts, savings and retirement accounts, electronic banking services and consumer loans. Open and process all types of accounts including deposit and loan products.</li>
<li>Explain and/or demonstrate various additional products and services, using a needs-based consultative approach to customers to discover complimentary services which would provide value to the customer and to attempt to cross-sell. Act as a leader in promoting and demonstrating self-service channels to customers, including ATM, Online banking, and Mobile Banking. Make qualified referrals to business partners in the areas of residential and commercial lending, cash management and merchant services etc.</li>
<li>Handle all cash under daily control, and maintain cash limits, accurately and according to bank policy and procedure. Accurately balance each day’s transactions and verify cash totals in order to complete daily settlement to verify accuracy of all work.</li>
<li>Answer routine and more complex questions on customer accounts, products, services, policies, and procedures. Troubleshoot customer issues and provide follow-through to ensure resolution.</li>
<li>Responsible for other tasks as required, including but not limited to reporting; ordering supplies; balancing branch machines; preparing night deposit bags; operating drive-up window; filing and scanning records and maintaining proper and safe procedural responses to robberies.</li>
<li>Work with branch management to plan for the achievement of individual and team sales goals according to the bank’s Sales Program. Fully participate in sales promotions.</li>
<li>Maintain a thorough knowledge of bank products and services, standards and procedures through attendance at meetings and timely completion of trainings</li>

What you’ll do

Qualifications
What you need

<li>A valid state driver’s license, current address, and acceptable driving record. </li>
<li>The ability to safely drive a vehicle with a manual transmission (stick shift) is a plus.</li>
