The Opportunity
MassMutual is looking for an experienced actuary to join our LTC Inforce Management team. In this role, you’ll help shape strategy and financial performance for our long-term care (LTC) products, collaborating across actuarial, finance, product, and regulatory teams to ensure our inforce management approach supports MassMutual’s long-term goals.

The Team 
You’ll join a group responsible for the actuarial oversight of our individual stand‑alone LTC products and hybrid LTC riders. The team drives key inforce management activities, including repricing, regulatory testing and filings, dividend analysis, wellness program evaluation, and other strategic initiatives that enhance financial outcomes and customer value.

Your Impact
In this role, you’ll help guide the financial health and long‑term performance of MassMutual’s LTC products. You’ll blend actuarial expertise with strategic thinking—analyzing data, navigating regulatory requirements, identifying risks, and offering insights that shape product decisions and support our customers. Your work will directly influence pricing, compliance, wellness programs, and broader inforce initiatives across the organization. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

<li>Contribute to annual LTC dividend analysis</li>
<li>Oversee and analyze LTC wellness program results, providing insights and recommendations</li>

<li>Perform sensitivity analyses on key assumptions and explain implications to stakeholders</li>
<li>Extract meaningful insights from data/models and present complex information clearly</li>
<li>Partner with the broader Profitability Management &amp; Strategy team on cross‑functional initiatives</li>
<li>Support additional LTC inforce and strategic initiatives as needed</li>
<li>Promote continuous improvement by challenging existing processes, offering new perspectives, and championing innovation</li>

Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field</li>
<li>Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)</li>
<li>5+ years of actuarial experience</li>
<li>1+ year of life or health insurance experience</li>
</ul>

Ideal Qualifications

<li>Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and MAAA</li>
<li>Experience with LTC products</li>
<li>Qualification to sign actuarial opinions for LTC, disability income, chronic illness, or accident products</li>

The principal responsibilities are to carry out research projects in the areas of flammability, fire spread, and heat transfer in fires from solid combustible as well as Lithium-ion batteries. Projects can also involve advanced flame diagnostic of buoyant turbulent sooty flames and wall fires. The experimental and theoretical studies will be closely integrated with Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) model development and validation within the work group.&nbsp;

The position is responsible for all aspects of project management including project proposals, execution, and reporting.
 
The position requires a PhD in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related fields with a strong fundamental background in combustion, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, material science and applied mathematics.&nbsp; Extensive experience in experimental methods in thermal fluids, material flammability, heat transfer, combustion/fire, and an understanding of associated numerical methods are required. Research experience with advanced laser diagnostics in flame, experimental measurement in turbulent flame, heat transfer and failure analysis of battery is desirable. Also needed are excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrated expertise in developing solutions to challenging technical problems.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Uses a pneumatic nail gun to repair or assemble pallets. In a repair department places pallet on repair table, removes defective boards, replaces new boards, and nails replaced boards into place. In an assembly department takes stock boards and nails together based on type of pallet desired. Responsible for troubleshooting jams and basic maintenance of the saw.
Work requires operator to stand for long periods of time. Operators must be able to repeatedly lift a pallet weighing 50-75 lbs. Nail guns must be operated with extreme care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Repair Operators must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Repair Operators must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.
Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

PREFERRED SKILLS
2+ years previous experience working in an industrial, fast moving setting with industrial machinery.
