Provides instruction to students enrolled in Reading, Mathematics, Workplace Communications, Career Success Standards (CSS), Health Education, Driver's Education, or HSD/HSE. Conducts and manages academic classes.
 
Brief Description of Duties 
<ul>
<li>Performs as an instructor, as needed in a substitute capacity, in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction in the area of Reading, Mathematics, Workplace Communications, CSS, Health Education, Driver's Education, or HSD/HSE.</li>
<li>Endeavors to promote a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting, ensuring maximum student motivation.</li>
<li>Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom in order to ensure maximum learning.</li>
<li>Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.</li>
<li>Works directly with the career tech instructors in coordinating curriculum development.</li>
<li>Utilizes all possible curricular resource available at the Center.</li>
<li>Makes adequate preparation for classroom.</li>
<li>Maintains students' personal folders, recording personal data, including test scores, evaluations, incident reports, achievement awards, and any other pertinent information concerning students. Records attendance in CIS.</li>
<li>Participates in ESP's (evaluation of student performance).</li>
<li>Evaluates student employee's performance in academics and CSS. Provides regular feedback to student employees regarding appropriate CSS.</li>
<li>Works toward meeting performance management goals.</li>
<li>Follows CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.</li>
<li>Assists with quarterly graduation exercises.</li>
<li>Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.</li>
<li>Demonstrates and abides by Serrato Corporation's core values and operating principles.</li>
<li>Models, mentors, monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.</li>
<li>Participation in PRH-mandated staff training is mandatory. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.</li>

Position Summary 
Berkshire United Way is seeking a part-time Instructional Coach to support early childhood educators across Pittsfield's Pre-K programs. This position is funded through the Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative (CPPI) and is currently grant-funded for one year, with the expectation of continued funding beyond that period. The individual will serve as an independent contractor.
 
The Instructional Coach will collaborate with program administrators to:
<ul>
<li>Use the Practice-Based Coaching model to strengthen instructional practices.</li>
<li>Support educators in applying Concept Development, Quality of Feedback, and Language Modeling Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) with instruction.</li>
<li>Collaborate with district and community partners to align professional development.</li>
<li>Promote reflective practice, classroom quality, and school readiness.</li>

Job Requirements
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.</li>
<li>3-5 years of experience in early childhood administration or leadership preferred. Experience in early childhood coaching or related field.</li>
<li>Experience working with children with special needs.</li>
<li>Knowledge and experience with the CLASS observation tool.</li>
<li>Knowledge of EEC licensing regulations and developmentally appropriate practices.</li>
<li>Experience with the Practice-Based Coaching (PBC} model and/or reflective supervision techniques.</li>
<li>Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to provide constructive feedback and model effective practices in classroom settings.</li>
<li>Experience in using CLASS and willingness to attend additional CLASS training sessions.</li>
<li>Must be able to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner.</li>
<li>Ability to be self-directed, demonstrate initiative, and solve problems effectively.</li>

Compensation and Benefits
