Job Description

Job description

Law doesn’t have to be stuffy. At Poppy Legal Group, we practice law with purpose, personality, and polish. We guide clients through life’s most pivotal transitions, from divorce and custody matters to estate planning and legacy building, all while cultivating a modern, supportive, and unexpectedly fun workplace.

We’re seeking a full-time Associate Attorney who wants to grow with us, take real ownership of cases, and feel proud (and excited) walking into the office every day.

About Us

We’re a boutique law firm based in downtown Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA. Our practice focuses on family law and estate planning. We’re community-driven, brand-conscious, and unapologetically different from the “burnout factory” firms you may know.

What Sets Us Apart

  • When the day needs a reset, the 90’s playlist goes on.

  • Spa days? The office closes. Work-life balance isn’t lip service; it’s lived.

  • There’s a Peloton in the office, and, yes, you can use it.

  • Oceanfront walks between appointments are highly encouraged.

  • ✨ We deliver white-glove legal service, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Who You Are

  • A self-starter ready to dive into family law and/or estate planning.

  • Experienced enough to manage cases with confidence, ideally 2+ years of practice.

  • Detail-driven and people-focused; empathy is as important as intellect here.

  • Tech-savvy (we run on Clio, Lawmatics, and all the modern platforms).

  • Craving a career with intention and impact, not just a job.

What You’ll Do

  • Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, motions, and estate planning documents.

  • Appear in Probate & Family Court.

  • Manage your own caseload with autonomy, while keeping clients supported and informed.

  • Collaborate with dedicated paralegal support that makes things seamless.

  • Grow your skills, refine your craft, and enjoy the process.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school.

  • Licensed to practice in Massachusetts (required).

  • 2+ years of family law and/or estate planning experience (required).

  • Exceptional communication, writing, and client-service skills.

  • Courtroom experience is a plus.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary + performance bonuses.

  • Paid time off (rest is non-negotiable here).

  • CLE, bar dues, and professional development covered.

  • A chic, seaside office in downtown Manchester-by-the-Sea

  • Hybrid work options (because balance matters).

  • A team that works hard, laughs often, and actually enjoys being together.

How to Apply

Send us your resume and three professional references. If you want to impress us, include your go-to 90’s anthem; we’ll add it to the playlist.
