Vision for the Role: The Hume New England Site Director provides leadership and oversight for all staff, programs, and operations at Hume New England. This role ensures the camp faithfully reflects Hume’s philosophy, mission, and vision while executing Hume Northeast’s strategic business and growth plan. The Site Director is responsible for fostering a safe, healthy, and inviting environment where guests can relax, refresh, and grow closer to God, while making complex decisions involving many stakeholders and priorities.

The Role:

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop staff (full-time, part-time, and seasonal).
  • Provide clear direction, mentoring, performance evaluations, and team-building opportunities.
  • Establish performance metrics to assess effectiveness of individuals, departments, and overall camp operations.
  • Maintain positive employee relations, resolve conflicts, and implement staffing plans and budgets in coordination with HR leadership.

Ministry & Guest Relations:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with pastors, guest group leaders, and donors.
  • Promote retreats and guest group experiences that align with Hume’s mission.
  • Ensure guest housing, programming, and facilities are well managed, safe, and supportive of spiritual growth.
  • Regularly evaluate programs for quality, consistency, and alignment with ministry objectives.

Operations & Compliance:

  • Provide oversight of the New England budget in partnership with Hume Christian Camps’ Chief Financial Officer.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, and property are well maintained, safe, and continually improved.
  • Work collaboratively with Hume’s Leadership Team which includes Finance, IT, HR, Operations, Programs, Hospitality, Development, Sales/Marketing, and Kingdom Partnerships.
  • Address legal issues by working with Hume Christian Camps Executive Director.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven executive leadership experience, preferably in ministry or camp settings.
  • Strong organizational, relational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to safeguard confidential and sensitive information.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Shepherd’s heart toward staff and guests.
  • Bachelor’s degree in biblical studies preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of ministry experience required.

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • Ability to live and work in high-altitude, extreme weather conditions, and small living quarters.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods and lift to 25 lbs. (heavier loads may be required).
  • Occasional overnight or out-of-town travel required.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary: $75,000 annually, benefits package included.
