Behavioral Health Specialists are a key component of the interdisciplinary team that provide support services for clients addicted to alcohol and other drugs during the first year of their recovery. BHS’s will perform functions efficiently and thoroughly to assure that the program runs smoothly and that the staff are supported during the admission process, day to day clinical activities and discharge. Essential Functions 1. ­­Relates to clients and colleagues in a compassionate, professional, and respectful manner as measured by observed interactions. 2. Assures safety and support to all clients admitted to The Dimock Center. 3. Able to assess, communicate effectively and maintain therapeutic boundaries through setting limits and enforcing structure and rules of the program in a respectful manner. 4. Supports all milieu staff in all aspects of the program including: safety checks, client and room searches, supporting client’s admission and discharge processes. 5. Participates in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for new clients in the program. 6. Recognizes the importance of individual and cultural differences that influence patient behavior and applies this understanding to the care of patients. 7. Participates in the patient admission process; provides explanation of Dimock paperwork and completes all necessary intake documentation. 8. Conduct property search of clients’ belongings on admission and discharge. 9. Observes and reports to Director clients who appear sick, agitated or depressed. 10. Uses negotiating skills to minimize and de-escalate potentially dangerous situations. 11. Supervises and supports clients as needed throughout the program day. 12. Assists new clients who enter the program with paperwork, orientation and settling in. 13. Attends to the overall operation and management of the living environment. 14. Ensures that the living space is neat and clean. 15. Establishes and maintains professional boundaries for clients to ensure client safety. 16. The Research Grant Administrator serves as a valuable member of the ADA Forsyth Institute Office of Sponsored Programs. The Research Administrator position reports to the Senior Director of Sponsored Programs and provides research grant management to the Institute’s Principal Investigators. 
PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES
Overall
<ul>
<li>Responsible for the overall grants management including all aspects of pre and post award administration for the Institute’s research portfolio and ensuring compliance with federal, state and institutional policies. </li>

Pre-award

<li>Work closely with Principal Investigators (PI) to prepare and review research grants, subcontracts and industry sponsored proposals, including budget preparation.</li>
<li>Assist with proposals and assess for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with sponsor requirements and Institute policies/guidelines and ensure timely submission.</li>
<li>Maintain a list of key personnel on each grant budget and track all funding by PI, including non-grant support.</li>

Post-award

<li>Provide assistance to PIs in interpreting award terms and conditions and ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements, Institute policies and procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.</li>
<li>Participate in regular meetings with PIs to review funding portfolio, including grant end dates and proposed funding plan.</li>
<li>Conduct and monitor post-award grant management activities including budget reviews, periodic forecasting, and financial reporting.</li>
<li>Prepare cost transfers, changes in salary allocations, extension and revision requests, according to institutional and sponsor policies.</li>
<li>Administer time and effort including ongoing monitoring of effort, effort tracking system updates, and adherence to related salary and effort limitations imposed under sponsor or institute policies.</li>

About the Division of Supportive Housing (DSH)

Position Summary
DSH is seeking a Case Manager who is bilingual in English and Spanish. The bilingual Case Manager provides trauma-informed, person-centered support to individuals in substance use and/or mental health recovery who have a history of homelessness. This role involves assisting participants as they transition from homelessness into their own studio apartments within a congregate supportive housing site. Once housed, the Case Manager continues to provide ongoing support to help participants achieve their goals—such as stabilizing income, strengthening coping skills, accessing medical care, and pursuing employment. The Case Manager is also responsible for completing documentation accurately and in a timely manner. This position will be based on-site at Chestnut Crossing but will spend a significant amount of time in the community working directly with participants and will regularly travel to MHA’s Main Office in Chicopee.
Pay Rate: $20 an hour
Open Shift: Monday through Friday 8am-4pm (40h)
Key Responsibilities

<li>Coordinate all documentation required for program entry, including but not limited to: homelessness verification, substance use assessments, eligibility screenings, and obtaining IDs, birth certificates, social security cards, income verifications, etc. </li>
<li>Complete initial Adult Comprehensive Assessments, updates, and service plans.</li>
<li>Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop Individualized Action Plans (IAPs), utilizing participant voice, choice, strengths, and needs.</li>
