As part of the federal licenses for many of PGE’s generation facilities, PGE’s parks and recreation facilities are available to the general public. Our parks help protect natural areas, develop the economy by attracting tourism, and provide recreational and learning opportunities for families, including hydro tours for school children. Five parks are available for day use only (Round Butte Overlook Park, Pelton Wildlife Overlook, Faraday Lake, Timber Park, Trojan Park); four others offer overnight camping facilities (Pelton Park, Timothy Lake, Lake Harriet, Promontory Park). The day-use areas are generally open from morning until dusk; specific hours vary by park. Seasonal Park Maintenance Assistant (T17-067)In this position, you will provide assistance with various aspects of recreation programs at the Pelton Round Butte, Clackamas and Willamette Falls Hydroelectric Projects, and other company-sponsored locations to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local requirements, including the maintenance and construction of recreation facilities and amenities at these sites. This position will require the use of a personal RV as the successful candidate will be living onsite during the duration of the assignment. There are multiple positions that will be filled from this opening. Support our journey by: Assists with operation and maintenance activities at Project recreation areas including landscaping work, cleaning and janitorial work, and trail repairs. Assists with the construction and maintenance of public recreation trails in the Project area. Assists with the construction and maintenance of public-dispersed campsites in the Project area. Assists with enhancement and maintenance activities on Project wildlife habitat lands, including noxious weed control, juniper thinning, and fence repair Enters data from various field studies into electronic spreadsheets and databases. Assists with public use surveys and pattern observations to assess capacity constraints of users. Assists with maintenance of public drinking water systems at company-provided sites. Assists other natural resource program activities as needed Bring the following skills to our team: Valid driver’s license and good driving record required Working knowledge of basic maintenance and landscape tools Ability to operate power tools Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel Basic knowledge of applicable company safety policies Working knowledge of Park rules and policies Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills Basic oral and written communication skills An interest in natural resources and outdoor recreation preferred
