Franklin County Sheriffs Office
The Franklin County Sheriffs Office is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
The NP is responsible for seeing inmates on a daily basis for routine interval (chronic care) and episodic (acute) visits.
Diagnose, treat and provide emergency medical treatment (i.e.
suturing) as needed. Make referrals to local hospital emergency departments.
Collaborate closely with the Clinical Psychologist as well as Nurses and other members of the medical staff.
Order, perform and/or schedule appropriate laboratory, radiological, electrocardiography and other diagnostic procedures in-house or with outside specialists.
Teach health care information to inmates and staff and offer continuing education to nurses.
Write prescriptions for current inmates and to bridge inmates medical treatment upon release until they are seen by outside providers.
Provides on-call service to the Department 24/7/365 along with many other duties).
Corrections training provided. Corrections experience is a bonus.
Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred.
Must possess a current and valid license as a Nurse Practitioner under the Massachusetts Board of Registration and maintain license by completing annual training and CEU requirements.
