This is a new position that is responsible for developing and managing strategic programming to engage the alumni, parent and friend networks with a purpose.
Working closely with the full Advancement Directors team, this position will deliberately partner with the Director of the Alumni and Parent Giving team to create an integrated and complementary set of programs between engagement and giving.
NMH is eager to develop and execute an alumni and parent engagement program that has clearly defined goals, metrics, and serves to clarify, illustrate and promote our philosophy of community engagement and involvement.
This position will be an architect and ambassador of growing engagement, and will bring a sophisticated approach to understanding the purpose and place for constituent engagement within advancement and independent school cultures.
This work will be informed by data, best practices, key internal leaders and stakeholders, alumni volunteer groups, alumni and parent leadership groups, and the advancement leadership team.
The Director will build and sustain strong relationships with volunteers and will manage the Alumni Council, an active and engaged group of volunteers who have strong loyalty and connection with NMH and provide an active vehicle for involving alumni in the life of the school and in its vision for the future.
The successful applicant will have a bachelors degree or its equivalent and 4-6+ years experience in advancement, alumni relations and/or parent relations.
Candidates must have superior interpersonal skills and exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
The ability to apply good judgement and decision making skills and maintain confidentiality is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google products preferred and experience with Raisers Edge or comparable donor databases is highly desired.
Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently.
This position requires willingness and the ability to travel; some weekend and evening work required.
