ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Leadership Development this role is part of the launch of a new initiative to support leadership development across EL Education’s national network of schools. This initiative will cultivate a pipeline of highly qualified leaders ready to lead existing and new EL schools. The initiative does this by providing job-embedded professional learning for teachers, coaches, and administrators to develop and strengthen their leadership skills within the context of their current work. The initiative also places highly-qualified Fellows into year-long residencies at host schools. The Project Manager will also support the Mentor School Initiative which pairs principals who are new to leading an EL Education school with highly-skilled leaders with partner schools.
The Project Manager’s responsibilities include supporting the development of the systems needed to launch and sustain this new initiative, from recruitment efforts to application and interview processes to data systems to partnerships with network schools. The Project Manager will work most closely with the Director of Leadership Development but will also work with people across departments in EL Education to coordinate across a range of needs from communication and marketing to logistics planning, program development and evaluation, and recruitment. This is a grant-funded position.
Recruitment, Application, and Selection Processes
Manage the logistics of recruitment, application, and selection processes for the Fellowship and Mentor School Initiatives. Maintain recruitment records and application documents.
Support the Director of Leadership Development in managing partnerships and the induction experience of new schools and their mentor schools.
Respond to inquiries from the field about new and ongoing initiatives. Be the first line of communication in answering questions and helping people learn about program offerings.
Manage the logistics of data collection, maintenance, and customized reports related to leadership development initiatives.
Manage data systems to track developing leaders, existing leaders, and to support evaluation of the program over time.
Manage data systems to track experience and training needs of staff members.
Attend to data entry tasks and managerial details (e.g.., updating school contact information, school achievement data, sending out follow-up reminders to schools and institute participants and Fellows)
Communications and Marketing
Coordinate with Communications and Marketing departments to project manage marketing, recruitment and selection processes for the Fellowship.
Support the Director of Leadership Development in creating partner-facing Leadership Development Progression program materials in print, digital (e.g. PowerPoint, PDF), and online formats.
Coordinate systems to support communication with Mentor and Mentee schools, their school designers, and the Director of Leadership Development.
Program development and support
Support the Director of Leadership Development in developing case studies, videos, and other instructional materials for use in the Leadership Development Progression.
Coordinate the curation of a library of public and internal resources regarding leadership development.
Coordinate Program Partnerships and Grant Relationships
Project manage the tracking of all grant deliverables.
Support the Director of Leadership Development in coordinating relationships with peer leadership development organizations by identifying them in our target geographies, monitoring their practices, keeping them informed of relevant opportunities for their members. (i.e. send Fellowship recruitment materials, information about new programming, etc.)
Provide logistical leadership for events and meetings including institutes, site visits, Fellowship mini-residencies, and other related programming:
Research and vet potential venues for meetings with internal staff and external partners
Handle details during negotiations with host schools, institute venues, recruiting events, and finalize details on event planning
Coordinate travel and lodging for national staff attending events as needed
Handle logistics on-site for occasional internal and external meetings
Coordinate with the director of online learning regarding Fellows digital performance assessments and ongoing virtual cohort meetings
Prepare materials to support the full range of program offerings , including institutes, site visits, quarterly performance evaluations for Fellows, surveys to participants in all programming, and all recruitment, application, and selection activities.
Coordinate dates for internal meetings as needed.
Highly proficient in technology tools including the Google Apps, use of online calendar, MS Office Suite, Salesforce
Project management skills
Ability to use web-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Hangout, Adobe Connect)
Strong communication skills including internal and external audiences
Logistical event planning for participants from a variety of settings
Familiarity with Salesforce preferred
Creating data systems/databases
Basic understanding of the education profession, workings of school districts, etc.
Background in K-12 education preferred
A minimum of 2 years work experience
A self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative
Ability to prioritize a number of concurrent tasks
Capacity for occasional travel - around 20% - including but not limited to 4 nights for October National Conference, 4 nights for May Staff Gathering, 4 nights for Mentor Institute/Leadership Induction Institute
Ability to set own daily schedule, prioritize a number of tasks
Ability to collaborate and match collaboration style to support dynamic and diverse team members
Comfort with working remotely by oneself and also being a part of highly interactive face-to-face events
Ability to work with a geographically dispersed organization
Ability to bring a spirit of joy and humor to challenges

Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration or education preferred.
Candidate will preferably reside in the Amherst, MA area, however, qualified candidates residing in the Eastern Time or Central Time Zones will be considered.
