Part-Time, Adaptive Skills Trainer
At our Transition and Adult Services Program, our clients are empowered to overcome social and adaptive skills deficits, which often prevent them from living and working independently or interfere with the quality of life they seek to obtain. We serve a population of individuals who have often experienced major life challenges and need assistance in their day-to-day living skills. By offering personal and vocational skills training to youth and adults with developmental disabilities, emotional or mental health issues, and/or dual diagnoses, we help prepare our clients to participate as positive members of their communities.
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill our Part-time (10 hrs/wk) Adaptive Skills Trainer position in South Pasadena. This person will be responsible for training, coaching, and supporting adults, with developmental disabilities, within their community job placements and in accordance with their employer expectations and case manager recommendations. The Adaptive Skills Trainer will also assess client progress, keep accurate records, maintain strong ties with employers, and work as a liaison between employers and company staff. This position will involve traveling to various sites with in the Pasadena and South Pasadena areas.
- A high school diploma is required.
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License, as well own reliable transportation
- A CPR and First Aid certificate is preferred; however, we will sponsor one for the right candidate.
- Experience working with adults with developmental, learning, physical, or mental health disabilities is helpful.
