Opportunity: The Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Kent State University at East Liverpool invites applicants for a full-time 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position. The primary responsibility of this fulltime position is to teach coursework in the entry level OTA program, as well as related classes in Allied Health Science.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; Current licensure as OT or OTA in Ohio; 2 year of OT clinical experience; Expertise to teach mental health coursework. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree; Prior teaching experience, including in online environments; Four plus years of OT clinical experience.
The ideal candidate joins an experienced faculty at the East Liverpool campus one of KSU's eight campus network. Located in East Liverpool, Ohio, the campus enrolls 1,175 students and offers bachelor's and associate's programs with a strong emphasis on healthcare professions. The OTA program is housed in the Mary Patterson Building, with experiential lab opportunities at the Locke House; a community donated home that has a fully equipped ADL home environment, a simulated hospital room, and high tech adaptive equipment to enhance student learning. The program's curriculum is strongly focused on occupation based and client centered practice, professionalism, community based practice and clinical reasoning.
